@gravity

If you hypothetically assume or believe in "life after death" or in "spirits", then there you go, you have achieved your objective of overcoming gravity by dying and being free from your physical body.

And once your "out of your body" or in a "ghost form", then hypothetically you can assume that this form defies gravity or in general any physical laws.

---Au revoir---

Social media has desensitized a lot of things as normal, bullying, being outright rude and disrespectful (flaming), discrimination and taking extreme risk for the lulz.
When "everyone's doing it" it's normalized and acceptable, and doesn't come with the "These Are Professionals. Do Not Try This at Home" tag stipulated by many television programs.

Social media doesn't even help quell the aftermath of these things. For a few hours it will be "trending" that a 15 year old has died, until Lindsey Lohan's Selfie trends the next day and suddenly it was nothing more than a blip on the radar like yesterday's meme.

It's the fact that he wasn't near water that really gets to me. Clearly no planning went into this whatsoever. Still, I woudnt be so quick to label him an idiot.
15 year olds don't tend to do much planning.

Sure, regarding school, they don't plan! They never learn for tests, they don't make homework until 1 day before it has to be turned in. But when you're about to set yourself on fire even a 15 year old can plan to fill up a bathtub with cold water!!!

I don't care that he is young. He's setting himself on fire, I wouldn't do that if I was 5, just utterly stupid.
If you set yourself on fire you're mentally challenged, no excuses.

Please try to avoid double posting like that VejitaLovr, just use the edit button in the future. We like to keep things nice and tidy.

Moved this to Talk about anything as it isn't really a debate or anything.

However i'm continuously amazed at such 'challenges' existing. Who even comes up with them? It does seem to be a little overkill now - sure cinnamon challenge etc are fine, they aren't going to potentially kill you and are often amusing to watch. It's a little worrying that people find it entertaining to watch this. Sure it's fine when it is done by professionals such as Jackass etc, but they do it in safe conditions with people on hand to deal with any problems. They always say dont do this at home, though I guess thats sorta been thrown out the window now.

Hopefully the kid will have learnt and this sort of thing wont happen again (at least for him).
